Huskies Edge Vikings 5-4

PORTLAND, Maine -- The Southern Maine Huskies edged Salem State 5-4 in Little East women's tennis action on Tuesday afternoon at Wayneflete Tennis Courts. Southern Maine took two-of-three doubles matches to improve to 1-4 on the year and 1-2 in conference. The Vikings slip to 0-5 and 0-3 in the league.

Ryann TrippErin Curristin and Alanna Zaldivar won third through sixth singles for Salem State with Tripp and Zaldivar winning their first matches of the year. Tripp defeated Chole McVetty, 6-0, 6-1 while Curristin defeated Muriel Lattin, 6-1, 6-2. Zaldivar won 6-3, 6-0 over Caraline Squires. 

Miah Reyes / Tripp won the only doubles match for the Vikings, defeating Rebecca Hamel / Maggie Brock who withdrew due to retirement trailing 7-0.
