Bears Win 7-2 Over Vikings

SALEM, Mass. -- Bridgewater State won two-of-three doubles matches and five of six singles matches in defeating Salem State 7-2 on Tuesday at the Central Campus Tennis Courts in a Little East tennis match. Bridgewater State improves to 10-2 overall and 6-1 in the LEC. The Vikings go to 3-11 and 2-5. 

Anastasia Startseva (Volksburg, Russia) and Alexandria Floyd (Burlington, Mass.) both played in the final home match of their career and were honored before singles play.   

Startseva  / Floyd earned an 8-3 win at first doubles over Madeline Von Ruden (Ashley Falls, Mass.) / Abigail Ramer (Sherwood, Ore.).  Olivia Sweeney (Taunton, Mass.) / Mackenzie Silveira (Middletown, R.I.) took second doubles, 8-1 over Abbie Laliberte (Gardner, Mass.) / Samantha Tenney (Danvers, Mass.) while the Bears earned a third point by default. Startseva outlasted Von Ruden 5-7, 6-3, 10-3 at first singles while Sweeney beat Floyd 6-1, 6-0 at second singles.
