Rams Upend Vikings

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Salem State women's lacrosse traveled to Framingham, Massachusetts this morning to take on the Rams of Framingham State University, where a 10-goal first quarter guided the home team to a 19-1 victory over the Vikings.

How It Happened

  • Leah Green (Chelmsford, Mass.) and Molly Lanier (Tyngsboro, Mass.) both recorded three goals in the first quarter to spearhead their team to a 10-0 advantage after the opening stanza.
  • The Rams were able to add two more to their tally before Olivia Tednes (Elk Grove Village, Ill.) stopped the bleeding to record Vikings first goal of the afternoon. Shortly after, Lanier would slip another past Nora Bradley (Haddon Township, N.J.) to give Framingham the commanding 14-1 lead at the break.
  • The Rams would add five goals over the third and fourth quarter to take the decisive 19-1 victory over the Vikings.

Noteworthy

  • Tednes' lone goal for the Vikings marked the first of her career for the blue and orange.
  • Green and Hannah Guerin (Cumberland, R.I.) paced the Rams with six goals and five goals, respectively, while Lanier chipped in with four goals in the victory.
  • The loss drops the Vikings to 2-8 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
