NORTHFIELD, Vt. - Norwich defeated Salem State 6-0 on Friday evening at Kreitzberg Arena as the Cadets improve to 6-1 on the season while remaining unbeaten (5-0) in the NEHC. The Vikings lose their second in a row to go to 2-6-1 on the year and 1-5-1 in conference.
Ally Lague and Ann-Frederique Guay each scored a pair of goals for Norwich, which shut out Salem State for the third straight game. Ingrid Holstad-Berge put the home team on top just :20 seconds into the game before another goal by Lague gave the Cadets a 2-0 first period lead. Guay scored back-to-back goals just :40 seconds apart in the second before Lague made it 5-0 late in the second. Olivia Boyer notched the only goal of the third to cap the scoring, making the final 6-0.
Jillian Wexler made seven saves to earn the win for Norwich. Hannah Aveni stopped 45 shots in net for the Vikings.
