Colonels Conquer Vikings, 12-0

Colonels Conquer Vikings, 12-0

SALEM, Mass. – This afternoon, Salem State softball hosted the Colonels of Curry College for their final home game of the season. A seven-run opening inning, coupled with a no-hitter, allowed the Colonels to cruise to the 12-0 non-conference victory over the Vikings.

How it Happened:

  • The Colonels used four hits and two Vikings' errors to bring seven runs around before Maddison Donovan (Pittsfield, Mass.) stopped the bleeding by picking off the runner on third to send the game into the bottom of the first.
  • Curry had another four-hit inning in the third where they added five runs to take the commanding 12-0 lead over the Vikings.
  • The Colonels' pitching duo would strike out four batters of the next two innings to aid in holding the Vikings to a hitless game and secure the 12-0 non-conference victory.
