Wilkins, Cherico Named to All-Little East Tennis Team

SALEM, Mass. -- Salem State's Quentin Wilkins (Hamilton, Mass.) and Cory Cherico (Winthrop, Mass.) earned All-Little East honors in a vote by the league's seven head coaches on Thursday. Wilkins was named first team All-LEC at first singles and doubles while Cherico garnered second team singles recognition at second singles and was named to the first doubles team with Wilkins.  

Wilkins, who was second team a season ago, was awarded first team singles honors after posting a 7-6 overall record and 4-2 conference mark at No. 1 singles. The sophomore notched a six-match winning streak this season. Cherico, who is a two-time All-LEC second team selection at singles, went 6-6 this year at 2nd singles, sporting a 3-3- mark in conferemce. Wilkins and Cherico were recognized on the 1st doubles team after recording a 4-2 mark and 2-0 Little East mark. Wilkins is making his first team doubles appearance, while Chrerico was named to the All-LEC doubles team for the third time in his career with two first team selections and one second team.
