Stevens Ends Salem State's Run

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. --   The Stevens Ducks defeated the Salem State Vikings 5-0 in an NCAA DIII Men's Tennis Championship First Round match played on the campus of Williams College. The Ducks improved to 15-5 on the year, while the Vikings finished the season with a record of 11-4.

The Ducks got off to a fast start by sweeping the three doubles matches and then adding two singles wins in extending their current win streak to 12.

Salem State head coach Chen Chen was proud of what his team accomplished this year. "We exceded our expectations, especially going undefeated in the conference (LEC). Before the season started, we knew how important the Little East championship meant to our core group, to go on one last run. I am very glad and lucky to have coached this historic team."

The Ducks advance to play host Williams at 10 AM tomorrow in the second round.
