Vikings Win Streak Snapped

SALEM, Mass. -- Salem State had their eight-game unbeaten streak snapped with a 6-3 loss to Endicott at The Central Campus Tennis Courts on Friday afternoon. The Vikings are now 8-2 on the year while the Gulls improve to 8-10.

Andrew Muttiah remained undefeated at No.1 singles, earning a 6-2, 6-1 win over George Danes. Corey Cherico won a hard-fought two sets, including a tiebreaker (7-4) at No. 3 singles, 6-4 and 7-6 over Oliver Pope. Quentin Wilkins outlasted Hudson De Risi, 6-7(4-7), 6-3, 11-9 at No. 4 singles to win the third point for Salem State.

The Gulls opened the match sweeping all three doubles matches with Cherico / Roni Bazile losing a competitive match at No. 2 doubles, 8-4 to Julian Richtarich / Antonio Marsallo.
