Salem State Wins Sixth Straight

CASTLETON, Vt. -- Salem State cruised to their sixth straight win and remained unbeaten in the Little East, improving to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in the LEC with a 7-2 victory over Castleton at the Castleton Tennis Courts on Saturday. The Spartans are 4-6 and 0-5 in conference. 

Andrew Muttiah picked up his second straight shutout at No.1 singles, defeating Miki Almirall, 6-0, 6-0. Roni Bazile won his third match this week, defeating Phil Kluge, 6-2, 6-0. Cherico earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No.3 singles while Quentin Wilkins won Salem State's fourth singles point with a convincing 6-2, 6-0 win over Jason Lipscomb. 

Muttiah / Wilkins and Bazile /  Cherico blanked Castleton, 8-0 at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles respectively. Kevin Merino-Rivas / Josh Gruber earned an 8-4 decision at No. 3 doubles as Salem State swept all three doubles matches.
