Men's Tennis Clips Western Connecticut 5-4

DANBURY, Conn. -- Andrew Muttiah and Roni Bazile posted wins at No. 1 and No.2 singles to lead Salem State past Western Connecticut 5-4 in a Little East Conference (LEC) tennis match on Saturday at Westside Courts. The Vikings improve to 4-1 and 2-0 in the LEC while the Wolves slip to 3-6 and 2-1.

Both Muttiah and Bazile remain unbeaten in conference while freshman Quentin Wilkins picked up his first collegiate singles win at No. 4 singles. Muttiah defeated Kevin Tenesaca, 6-0, 6-4 while Bazile swept Aidan Burke, 6-4, 6-4. Wilkins defeated Jay Kilcourse, 6-4, 6-1. Parker Andreoli earned a win at No. 5 singles, 7-5, 6-1 over Jerry Narcisse. 

Western Connecticut won two-of-three doubles matches with Muttiah/Wilkins winning for the fourth time this season (4-1) at No. 1 doubles for Salem State with an 8-5 victory over Tenesaca/Burke.
