Beacons Defeat Vikings

BOSTONAndrew Muttiah won his seventh straigh match to remain unbeaten in Little East Conference (LEC) play, but UMass Boston swept all remaining matches to defeat Salem State 8-1 at the BC High Tennis Courts on Saturday. The Beacons are now 10-3 and remain unbeaten in the LEC at 6-0. The Vikings go to 6-5 and 3-2 in the conference.

Muttiah battled Miguel Beltran at the top seed, surviving a tough three-set win (6-1, 2-6, 10-4) to keep his perfect singles record in tact. UMass Boston crusied through singles play, winning in straight sets, with only Adam Stanneck scoring more than two points, losing 6-3,6-3 to Rez Yupsi. 

Beltran / Nandish Shah won 8-5 at first doubles over Muttiah / Corey Cherico while Rudraksh Trivedi / Alexander Comerchero beat Roni Bazile / Parker Andreoli 8-2 at second doubles.
