Salem State Blanks Thomas College 9-0

SALEM, Mass. -- Salem State won their third match in a row, defeating Thomas College 9-0 on Monday at The Central Campus Tennis Courts. The Vikings even their record at 4-4 while the Terriers move to 5-5.

Andrew Muttiah (Colombo, Sri Lanka), Roni Bazile (Brockton, Mass.) and Cory Cherico (Winthrop, Mass.) all picked up their fifth wins this season. Muttiah, Bazile, Cherico and Adam Stanneck (Washington, N.J.) did not allow a point, defeating Jose Afonso (Tenerife, Spain), Liam Gould (Freeport, Maine) Rajhan Munnings (Providenciales, Turks and Caicos) and Caleb Daigneault (Cornville, Maine) 6-0, 6-0 at first, second, fourth and sixth singles respectively.

Grant Bellino (Amesbury, Mass.) defeated Gabe McPhail (Windham, Maine) 6-4, 3-6 and 10-7 at fourth singles while Parker Andreoli (Windham, N.H.) picked up a 6-3, 6-3 victory at fifth singles. 

Muttiah / Cherico won 8-1 over Afonso McPhail at first doubles. Bazile / Andreoli earned an 8-3 decision over Gould / Munnings at second doubles while Stanneck / Kevin Merino-Rivas (Billerica, Mass.) won 8-1 over Rodrigue / Daigneault at third doubles.
