Salem State Prevails 6-3 Over Wentworth
SALEM, Mass. -- Andrew Muttiah (Colombo, Sri Lanka) and Cory Cherico (Winthrop, Mass.) each notched two wins as Salem State doubled up Wentworth 6-3 on Monday afternoon at The Central Campus Tennis Courts. Muttiah picked up a win at first singles and Cherico earned a victory at fourth singles while the duo paired for an 8-6 win at second doubles to spur the victory. The Vikings pick up their second win (2-4) of the season while the Leopards move to 4-5.
Muttiah defeated Kevin Salomon (West Newton, Mass.) 6-4, 6-0 and Cherico won 6-3, 6-1 over Harrison Maki (Rutland, Mass.) as Salem State took 4-of-6 singles matches. Roni Bazile (Brockton, Mass.) won 6-1, 6-3 at third singles over Pranav Marwaha (Nashua, N.H.) while Adam Stanneck (Washington, N.J.) took home a three-set win 2-6, 6-3, 10-6 over Sam Ferro (Whitman, Mass.).
The Vikings took two-of-three singles matches to start the afternoon with Giacomo Graziani (East Boston, Mass.) / Parker Andreoli (Windham, N.H.) winning 8-6 at third doubles for the second doubles win for Salem State.
