Vikings Blank Curry 9-0
SALEM, Mass. -- Salem State blanked Curry 9-0 to earn their first win of the 2022 spring season. Andrew Muttiah (Colombo, Sri Lanka) did not allow a point, defeating Lorenzo Russo (Lynnfield, Mass.), 6-0, 6-0 at first singles after teaming with Cory Cherico (Winthrop, Mass.) for an 8-0 win at first doubles. The Vikings improve to 1-2 on the year while the Colonels go to 0-7.
Grant Bellino (Amesbury, Mass.) defeated Nick Bell (Haverhill, Mass.) 6-2, 6-2 at second singles and eaned a second point, teaming with Giacomo Graziani (East Boston, Mass.) for an 8-5 win over Tim O'Brien (Attleboro, Mass.) / Kevin Meade (Milton, Mass.) at second doubles. Roni Bazile (Brockton, Mass.) / Adam Stanneck (Washington, N.J.) earned the third doubles point with an 8-1 win at third doubles.
Bazile easily beat Meade, 6-1, 6-0 at third singles, while Cherico, Graziani and Stanneck all won in straight sets at fourth through sixth singles.
