Vikings Record 3-1 Win Over MCLA

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Gabriel DaSilva produced two goals and Brendan Davis added a score for Salem State in the Vikings' 3-1 MASCAC win over MCLA at Shewcraft Field on Friday evening. Salem State raises their record to 10-4-2 and 4-1-1 in the conference. The Trailblazers slide to 5-8-1 and 2-3-1.

DaSilva scored his first of the year in the 8th minute, giving the Vikings an early 1-0 lead. However, Jacob Malburg tied the game for MCLA in the 15th minute as the two teams entered halftime tied, 1-1. Salem State did register four corner kick un the first half, but produced just two shots on net.

Davis gave the Vikings some breathing room with his team-leading 10th goal of the season at the 49:59 mark of the second. Salem State turned up the offensive pressure in the second half, wearing out the Trailblazers' defense before DaSilva iced the game with his second goal of the game in the 87th minute.

Matt Hauntsman picked up his ninth win (9-3-1) making five saves in net for the Vikings. Sam Edge stopped five shots for MCLA, which was outshot 21-10 for the game.
