Men's Soccer to Face No. 6 Connecticut College in NCAA Tournament Opening Round

SALEM, Mass. -- Salem State will face No. 6 Connecticut College in the opening round of the 2021 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament on Saturday, November, 13 at 11:00 AM. The Vikings (13-6) won the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) title 4-2 over Framingham State while Connecticut College (14-4), which is the regional host site, earned an at-large bid after losing 2-0 to Tufts in the championship game of the New England Small College Athletic Conference  Tournament.  

Salem State is making its 15th NCAA Tournament appearance and first since 2017. The Camels are making their fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance and their fifth overall.

Schedule: Both opening round matches will be played at Harkness Field (New London, Conn.)

Saturday, Nov. 13 

11 a.m. Salem State vs. Connecticut College *

1:30 p.m. New York University vs. St. Joseph's (Maine) 

* NCAA Regional Host Site

The winners will advance to play a second round match on Sunday, Nov. 14 at 1 p.m.

* Connecticut College will be one of 16 sites for the first and second rounds that are taking place this coming weekend. All of the sites will use a single-elimination format. Sixteen second-round winners will advance to one of four sectional championship sites on Nov. 20-21, and the winners of the four sectional sites will advance to the national semifinals on Dec. 3 at the UNC Greensboro Soccer Stadium in Greensboro, N.C. The final will take place a day later on Dec. 4.
