Leopards Post 2-0 Win Over Salem State

BOSTON, MASS. --  Andrea Colmenares scored his first goal of the year as Wentworth evened their record to 2-2 on the season with a 2-0 win over Salem State on Wednesday afternoon at Sweeney Field.

The Leopards took a 1-0 lead in the 8th minute as a miscommunication by the Salem State defense led to an own goal. The Vikings (1-3) managed just four shots in the first half and led 4-1 in corners, but trailed 1-0 at halftime.

Wentworth extended their lead to 2-0 when Colmenares scored from the right side in the 78th minute. Salem State allowed just one shot on net in the second half, but could not find the back of the net on offense.

Matt Hauntsman was credited with a save in the loss while Louis Quintero stopped for shots for the Leopards.
