Day 1 Results -- NCAA Championship

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Florida -- Salem State opened the 2022 NCAA Championship at Mission Inn Resort and Club on Tuesday. The Vikings opened play on the  par-71 Las Colinas Course, finishing with a team-score of 331.    

Brian Cannata (Wakefield, Mass.) and Danny DiLisio (Swampscott, Mass.) each birdied the fourth hole, as Cannata finished the front-nine with a (40, +4). Cannata produced a team-best 38 over the final nine holes, posting a 78 (+7) for the day. Matt Godbout (Rowley, Mass.) and Ethan Doyle (Salem, Mass.) finished with an 83 and 84 respectively while DiLisio (86) and Matt Martin (Gloucester, Mass.) (89) rounded out the field for Salem State. 

Carnegie Mellon led after the first round, shooting a 287 (-1) with William Knauth leading the field after a one-day tournament-high score of 69 (-3).
