Men's Golf 2022 NCAA Championship Preview
SALEM, Mass. -- Salem State's men's golf team will be competing at the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships, which will be held May 10-13 at Mission Inn Resort and Club, in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. The championship is hosted this year by Oglethorpe and the Greater Orlando Sports Commission. The 2021 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) champions won their 20th conference title, earning an automatic bid into this year's tournament. First-year head coach Jimmy O'Reilly, has led the Vikings back to the championship for the first time since 2015, which will mark the program's 24th appearance all-time.

2022 NCAA Championship Lineup
- Junior Brian Cannata (Wakefield, Mass.) - 74.03 Stroke Average - Has had a strong spring campaign, winning the Thread City Invitational with three runner-up finishes. Cannata was first-team All-MASCAC
- Freshman Ethan Doyle (Salem, Mass.) -75.07 Stroke Average - Won the MASCAC Championship last fall at Berkshire Hills Country Club to earn Conference Player and Rookie-of-the Year Honors.
- Matthew Godbout -C (Rowley, Mass.) - 78.5 Stroke Average - Godbout won the MASCAC Preview, leading the team to the team title. He has two top-ten finishes on the season.
- Matt Martin (Gloucester, Mass.) - 83 Stroke Average- He has three top-15 finishes this year.
- Danny DiLisio (Swampscott, Mass. ) - 82 Stroke Average- DiLisio has one-top-10 finish
The team and individual champions will be determined after 72 holes of play or the conclusion of the last fully completed round. Forty-three teams and six individuals not on one of those teams will be selected to participate in the championships. After 36 holes of competition, the field will be cut to the top 18 teams and top six individuals not on one of those teams.
A total of 221 participants will compete at the 2022 championship. Thirty-two conferences were awarded an automatic qualification for the championships. Two teams were selected from Pool B, which consists of independent institutions and institutions that are members of conferences that do not meet the requirements for automatic qualification. The final nine berths were reserved for Pool C, which are institutions from automatic-qualifying conferences that are not the conference champion and any remaining Pool B teams. The six individuals are selected from the remaining players who have not qualified with a team. Listed below are the teams and individuals selected for the 2022 championships:
