Gates,O’Donoghue Named MASCAC Players of the Week, Martinez Tabbed Rookie of the Week
SALEM, Mass. -- Salem State was well represented by having three of its student-athletes earn Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Player of the Week honors for the week ending November 11.
Women's Basketball
Kylie Gates, Salem State (Sr., G, Pembroke, Mass.) -- Gates averaged 17 points, 8.5 assists. seven rebounds and four steals in a 2-0 week for the Vikings. She had 14 points, nine rebounds, 11 assists, and four steals in an 87-82 win over Elms. The senior followed up with a 20-point effort on 6-of-10 shooting (60.0%), six assists, four rebounds and four steals in an 81-77 victory against Salve Regina.
Men's Ice Hockey
Keagan O'Donoghue, Salem State (Sr., F, Frisco, Texas) -- O'Donoghue had four goals and an assist for five points in a 1-1 week for the Vikings. He notched an assist in a 4-3 setback to Fitchburg State and scored four times, including two third period goals in the Vikings' 7-5 comeback victory over Framingham State.
Men's Basketball
Nicholas Martinez, Salem State (Fr., G, Revere, Mass.) -- Martinez was tabbed as the MASCAC Rookie of the Week after he netted 22 points on 8-of-12 (66.7%) shooting with four rebounds and four assists in Salem State's 87-82 win against Colby-Sawyer
