Gulls Pulls Away From Vikings, Win 5-1

SALEM, Mass. -- Meaghan Hogan (Cheshire, Conn.) and Olivia Lampasona (Watertown, Mass.) each scored twice as Endicott defeated Salem State 5-1 in non-conference action at Alumni Field on Wednesday afternoon. The Gulls even their record at 3-3 while the Vikings dip to 3-3.

Hogan beat keeper Kelli McCarthy (Foxborough, Mass.) for an early 1-0 Endicott lead 8:48 into the first. Jenna Seibold (Reading, Mass.) made it 2-0 early in the second period before Lampasona  put Endicott on top 3-0 with less than a minute remaining before halftime. The Gulls held the Vikings to just three first half shots while racking up 22 shots and holding a 9-0 advantage in corners.

Endicott continued to limit Salem State on offense, controlling the tempo despite neither team scoring in the third.

Mikayla Mason (Beverly, Mass.) set up the Vikings' lone goal in the fourth period, finding Alexia Hamilton (Burlington, Mass.) for a one-timer as Salem State drew to within 3-1. However, Lampasona and Hogan put the game away late for Endicott with back-to-back scores in the final 10 minutes, giving the Gulls a 5-1 victory.  

Taylor Farrin (Danvers, Mass.) picked up the win making two saves. McCarthy made 24 saves in net for the Vikings.
