SALEM, Mass.- Brock Pare (Lowell, Mass.) threw a complete game, two-hit shutout to give #1 Salem State an 8-0 MASCAC Quarterfinal victory over #4 Westfield State on Thursday afternoon at The Central Campus Baseball Field. The Vikings extended their winning streak to seven straight and improved their record to 22-13, while the Owls dropped to 26-15.

How It Happened

  •  James Dolan (Rockland, Mass.) and Antonio Belgrove (Stamford, Conn.) both walked in the second inning. Jake Boucher (Wallingford, Conn.) hit a base hit to left field to deliver the first run of the game.
  •  The Vikings added four more runs in the third. The highlight of the inning was when James Dolan (Rockland, Mass.) reached first base due to Trey Faulkner's (Springfield, Mass.) error, which resulted in two Vikings players crossing home plate.
  • The score was 5-0 in favor of the Vikings and it remained that way until the eighth inning, when the Vikings added three more runs. The highlight of the inning was EJ Field's (Gloucester, Mass.)  two-run single to center field.

NOTEWORTHY
