Bio

A lifelong resident of Gloucester, Bill Goodwin was a four-time All MASCAC performer in the sport track and field. A three-time team captain, Bill earned All-MASCAC honors four times in the discus event, three times in the shot put and once in the hammer throw. Bill graduated cum laude and was the recipient of Salem State College’s top male student athlete award his senior year. Goodwin set the Salem State College record for the discus in 1976 with a throw of 134’10”. The following year Bill would extend his discus record to 135’6”. Bill helped lead the Salem State College track program to one of its best years ever when the Vikings recorded a 21-3 record in 1976.
