Providence R.I. -- The Rhode Island College Anchorwomen defeated Salem State 3-0 (25-10, 25-20, 20-17) on Thursday evening at The Murray Center. Rhode Island College improves to 4-7 while the Vikings slip to 0-9.
Morgan Adams (Scotia, N.Y.) provided a balanced stat line of six kills, 16 assists and 10 digs for Salem State. Sarah Janco (Methuen, Mass.) led the Vikings with nine kills and added nine digs while Emily Hennessy (Hanover, Mass.) had six digs.
Amelia Murphy (North Attleboro, MA) set the pace for the Anchorwomen with a match-high 15 kills. Ashley Normandin (Blackstone, MA) had four kills and three blocks for the RIC. Junior libero Samantha Borges (Swansea, MA) had eight digs.
