Colonials Triumph 6-3 Over Vikings

DANBURY, Conn. --  Western Connecticut scored a 6-3 decision over Salem State in a Little East tennis match at Westside Courts on Saturday afternoon. The Vikings slip to 1-4 on the year and in conference while the Colonials improve to 5-3 overall and 3-1 in league play. 

Anastasia Startseva (Volgograd, Russia) remained unbeaten at first singles with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Emma Chapman (Danbury, Conn.). Hannah Dahrouge (South Hadley, Mass.) picked up her first win of the year at third singles with a decisive 6-1, 6-1 victory over Lesley Coronel (Danbury, Conn.). Dahrouge paired with Caroline Robitalle (South Hadley, Mass.) for Salem State's only win at doubles, an 8-3 victory second doubles win against Coronel and Lianne Maynard (Milford, Conn.).
