Pride Win 13-7 Over Salem State

WESTON, Mass. – Kerri Anselmo scored five goals and added an assist as Regis defeated Salem State 13-7 on Tuesday evening at Regis Stadium. Marissa McClellan scored three goals for the Vikings, but it was not enough as the Pride improve to 3-0, while Salem State slips to 1-2.

Bradley put Salem State on the scoreboard first with a free position shot at the 28:37 mark. Thomas answered for the Pride, starting a run of four consecutive goals by Regis with Thomas and Anselmo doing the damage. Schmink got one back for Salem State, but Ross started another Pride run of four consecutive goals to push the score to 8-2 with 8:05 left in the first half. Anselmo notched her fourth goal with less than a minute remaining to give Regis a 10-3 lead at halftime. The Pride held a 17-6 advantage in shots, converting on all five of their free position attempts. 

Regis continued to build their lead, scoring three straight goals to take a 13-3 lead. McClellan scored her second of the game for Salem State before McLaughlin made it 13-5 with 6:43 left in the second. Bradley and McClellan added scores in the final three minutes to make the final 13-7.

Brittany McPherson earned the win for Regis making six saves while Charlotte Orth stopped 11 shots in the loss.
