Women's Lacrosse Team Welcomes Harlem Lacrosse
Salem, Mass. – On Wednesday, February 13th the Salem State University Women's Lacrosse team welcomed Harlem Lacrosse to campus for a day of mentoring, instruction, and fun. Harlem Lacrosse's mission is to empower the children who are most at risk for academic decline and dropout to rise above their challenges and reach their full potential. Harlem Lacrosse inspires children to dream about tomorrow while working hard on the field and in the classroom today. 20 athletes from Harlem Lacrosse had lunch with the Vikings and were introduced to the possibilities of college athletics, including a tour of the facilities, drills and games, and a Q and A session with student-athletes.
"Our team had a great experience with Harlem Lacrosse" said Vikings Head Coach Stephanie Rouse. "I am proud of our student athletes and their commitments off the field. It was a rewarding experience for all involved. We look forward to hosting them again next season!"
