Plymouth State Posts 3-1 Win Over Vikings

SALEM, Mass. -- Plymouth State received goals from three different players and Olivia Petito (St. Augustine, Fla.) notched her first victory as the Panthers defeated Salem State 3-1 in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) action on Saturday from Rockett Arena. Plymouth State improves to 5-13-1 and 3-7-1 in the NEHC while the Vikings dip to 3-16-1 and 2-10-1 in conference.

The Panthers held a commanding 9-4 advantage in shots in the first period, but the game remained scoreless until Kerryann Goode (Millis, Mass.) split two Panthers' defenders for her second goal of the year at the 17:18 mark of the second, putting Salem State up 1-0. Chantelle Ross (Ottawa, Ontario) tied it up just over a minute later when she directed a pass from Addie Swanson (Anchorage, Alaska) into the back of the net.

Alie Louie (Mount Laurel, N.J.) gave Plymouth State the lead when her shot from just inside the blue line got past goalie Dana Smullen (Peabody, Mass.) 8:53 into the third period. Julie Nagel (Canton, Mass.) added an insurance goal later in the third as the Panthers secured a 3-1 win.
