Michelle Grifoni putting her Salem State education into practice back on campus

Michelle Grifoni was a four-year starter on the Salem State women's softball team, captaining the 2012 squad that advanced to the NCAA Division 3 tournament. The Peabody High grad is now back on campus as an adjunct professor.
A nurse practitioner, Grifoni lectures on the Fundamentals of Professional Nursing Practice. "My mom, Carole, who is my role model, is an amazing nurse, and I always wanted to do the same,'' said Grifoni. A career .330 hitter with 31 stolen bases in 45 attempts, striking out a meager 27 times in 509 at-bats, Grifoni was the university's Female Student-Athlete of the Year in 2012.
