Men's Tennis Welcomes Team Impact Recruit Camron Lawrence

SALEM, Mass.  – Salem State men's tennis welcomed Camron Lawrence to the team on Monday, March 18th in a team signing event held at the O'Keefe Center. Lawrence, who is from Lynn, was recruited through a partnership with Team IMPACT, a non-profit organization based in Quincy, Massachusetts chartered to improve the quality of life for children facing life-threatening illnesses. Team IMPACT helps draft children onto local college athletic teams, which allows them to become an official member of the team for the duration of their treatment and beyond.

The entire Salem State men's tennis team pledged their commitment to support Camron, who was diagnosed in 2017 with Muscular Dystrophy. Head coach Ken Hodgkins encourged the addition of Camron to his team. "We feel very privileged to have a special youn man be a part of our team. Cam fights his own battles on a daily basis and always has a smile on his face and displays a great attitude. We are excited to have him instill that attitude in our program and our institution."

Camron will be with the Vikings as a full member, and will be at practices, games and other team functions.
