Salem State Finishes Third at 2018 North Atlantic Championship, Serowik, Powers Earn First Team All-Conference

WATERBURY, Vt. - Salem State finished third at the 2018 North Atlantic Championship this weekend hosted by the Country Club of Vermont. The Vikings recorded a two-round total of 624 (311, 323), finishing behind champion Husson 619 (307, 312) and runner-up SUNY Delhi - 622 (318, 304).   

SUNY Delhi's Daniel Christy won the tournament with a 148 (75-73), while Husson's Taylor Morang and Salem State's Justin Serowik were just two strokes behind, finishing tied for second with a total score of 150 (74-76).  Eric Powers 152 (74,78) earned a fifth a place finsh as both players earned first team all-conference honors.       

Christian McKenna - t13, 164 (76, 88), Reed Bourgeois - 21, 168 (87, 81) and Nick Sheehan- t41, 188 (93, 95) completed the field for the Vikings.  

Castleton Univeristy finished fourth - 668 (332, 336), Northern Vermont University-Johnson fifth - 674 (340, 334) and SUNY Canton came in just behind in sixth place - 675 (337, 338). UMaine Farmington finished in seventh place - 682 (342, 340), Thomas College eighth - 703 (358, 345), and Maine Maritime Academy in ninth - 708 (356, 352).

MCLA - 777 (390, 387) and UMaine-Presque Isle - 849 (423, 426) rounded out the tournament field.
