#9 MIT Races Past Salem State 86-55

SALEM, Mass. -- Bradley Jomard's (Paris, France) 17 points (8-13) and nine assists led the #9 MIT Engineers to an 86-55 victory over the Salem State Vikings at Twohig Gymnasium on Thursday night. Jomard rounded out his scoring by corralling five rebounds with two blocks. MIT rises to 7-1 on the season while the Vikings fall to 3-6 on the year.

In the first half, Salem led early before MIT was able to take a six-point lead, 40-34 into the half. Sean Bryan (Lowell, Mass.) put up 13 points for the Vikings while Tyreik McCauley (Worcester, Mass.) added nine. The Engineers shot 56.7% (17-30) and the Vikings shot 45.2% (14-31). MIT forced 10 turnovers which led to 13 points.

MIT opened up the second half with a 19-4 run as Cameron Korb's (Los Gatos, Calif.) hot shooting helped the Engineers' surge ahead. Korb scored 30 points (11-21, 3PT 8-18) for the Engineers as MIT was able to pull away, extending their lead to as high as 31 in the second half.

The Vikings' offense struggled after halftime, as they were outscored 46-21. Salem State shot 38.2% (21-55) from the field for the game. The Vikings also turned the ball over 22 times.

Hakeem Animashaun (Dedham, Mass.) finished with 14 points for Salem State. Tim Roberts (Oak Bluffs, Mass.) had 15 points and 14 rebounds for MIT, which dished out 23 assists on 36-69 (52.2%) shooting.
