Jason Falcon Named New Head Baseball Coach

SALEM, Mass. --  Athletic Director Nicolle Wood is pleased to announce that Jason Falcon has been hired as the new head baseball coach at Salem State University. "After a competitive search process, we are excited to announce coach Falcon's hiring. His coaching experiences in both DI and DIII impressed the hiring committee and team representatives he met with. A successful leader in college athletics, we are excited about his vision for the future of the program. We look forward to introducing him to the team, athletics community, and campus this fall."

Falcon, who has over 20 years of coaching experience at the Division I and Division III levels recently served as the pitching coach at The University of Albany, after spending four years as an assistant at Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. "I am extremely honored to be named head baseball coach at Salem State University. It is truly an honor to be associated with this University and this particular group of young men. I would like to thank President Keenan and Nicolle Wood for giving me this opportunity to lead this dedicated and successful group of young men on and off the field."

During his time with the Crusaders (2015-19), Falcon served primarily as the hitting coach, helping develop six all-conference players while helping guide the school to their lone Patriot League championship, culminating in their first NCAA Regional appearance since 1978.

Prior to joining the Holy Cross staff, Falcon was the head coach at Clark University from 1999-2015 where he produced 23 all-conference players while becoming the school's all-time leader in victories.

Coach Falcon has previous ties to the North Shore, having served as head coach of the North Shore Navigators of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) from 2007-2009, winning Manager of the Year once while producing two division championships. Coach Falcon was also the pitching coach with the Vermont Mountaineers of the NECBL (2011) and served as an assistant at UMass Boston (1998-99).

As head coach of Team USA International (1999-2006), coach Falcon gained extensive experience in developing and recruiting collegiate players.

"I look forward to sharing my vision for the baseball program with the current-student-athletes, alumni and community leaders. The MASCAC is a very competitive conference and we will need a full commitment from everyone to continue the rich tradition of success the baseball program has achieved. I would also like to thank my wife and two sons for their constant support as we look forward to being a part of the Viking community."

He was a four-year letter winner, two-year captain and team MVP while playing collegiately at Western New England University. A three-time All-Constitution Athletic Conference (CAC) selection, he earned Player of the Year honors in 1995.  After graduating from Western New England in 1997, Falcon signed as a free agent with the Massachusetts Mad Dogs, where he pitched for two years.

Falcon earned his bachelor of science in Business Administration and his master's degree in Sports Administration from Endicott College's Van Loan School of Graduate and Professional Studies.
