Stephen Sherriff, a resident of Peabody, has been named Outstanding Soccer Official by the Eastern Massachusetts Soccer Association, and was the recipient of a 25- Year Award given by the New England Intercollegiate Soccer officials Association. Sherriff was the first head coach of the College’s Varsity Women’s Soccer program, where from 1986 through 1993, his teams posted an 89-39-14 record while being selected to five straight NCAA tournaments and winning five Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference titles. Sherriff is presently a guidance counselor at BeverlyHigh School. A former Salem State Soccer player himself, Sherriff received a master of education degree from Boston State College.
