Bio

Maryellen McGee, a resident of Topsfield, retired in 1992 as the fourth winningest coach in New England College Division field hockey history. Maryellen, who compiled a 141-38-16 overall record for an outstanding .702 winning percentage. In 11 seasons at Salem State College she directed seven of her teams to NCAA national playoff tournaments and six MASCAC Championships. Her 1982 team was the College’s first Women’s program to be selected for NCAA play-off competition. Maryellen’s teams posted a phenomenal 51-5-7 record against MASCAC opponents. Her 1985 team captured both the ECAC New England and MAIAW State Titles.
