A resident of Salem, Darlene Lamprey Shea was chosen to the Kodiak District I Regional All-American basketball team following her senior year in 1989-1990. Darlene played guard on four MASCAC championship teams and four NCAA tournament squads. A two time Team MVP, she was named to the NCAA New England Regional all-tournament team as a sophomore. Darlene was selected first team All-MASCAC and picked up her first Team MVP award as a junior. She was also selected Team MVP, first team All-MASCAC, ECAC All-New England, All-American, and was honored as the college’s Presidents Cup recipient her senior year. Her 1,326 career points in 109 games ranks Darlene second among SSC’s all-time women’s basketball scoring leaders. She is eighth on SSC’s career assist list with 268. SSC posted a 95-18 record during Darlene Lamprey Shea’s four years.
