Vikings Win 3-0 Against Mass Maritime

BUZZARDS BAY, MASS. -- Salem State picked up a MASCAC conference win with 3-0 shutout of Mass Maritime on Tuesday evening at Clean Harbors Athletic Center. The Vikings won 25-17, 25-11 and 25-12 to improve to 3-3 on the year and 1-0 in conference. The Buccaneers slip to 0-3 and 0-1 in the league.    

Brynn O'Neill (Danvers, Mass.) and Makenzie Salls (Turners Falls, Mass.) combined for 29 service points, including eight aces as Salem State pulled away depite registering just 24 kills in 77 total attempts. Salem State hit -.094 in the first set, but finished hitting .222 in the second and thirs sets to secure the easy win. 

Danielle Joseph (Waltham, Mass.) led the Vikings with six kills while Darcy McDowell (Goshen, N.Y.) had five kills and six digs. Salls finsihed with 12 assists and seven digs. Samantha Chaisson (Duxbury, Mass.) added six digs in the victory.
