Salem State Posts 9-0 Win Over Curry

SALEM, Mass. – Salem State defeated Curry 9-0 in a non-conference match on Thursday afternoon at The Central Campus Tennis Courts. The Vikings have now won back-to-back matches and stand at 3-4 on the season. The Colonels remain winless at 0-14. 

Anastasia Startseva (Volgograd, Russia) remained unbeaten in first singles play with a win against Sophia Wiernusz (Collegeville, Pa.) 6-4, 6-2 and along with Meredith Macdonald (Lynn, Mass.), improved to 5-1 at first doubles with an 8-1 victory over Wiernusz / Natalie Valvo (Hermosa Beach, Calif.).

Caroline Robitalle (South Hadley, Mass.) / Alexandria Floyd (Burlington, Mass.) shut out Alison Daigle (Edgartown, Mass.) / Samantha Gilbert (Bedford, Mass.) 8-0 at second doubles.

Robitalle won 7-5, 7-5 at second singles while Macdonald and Alexandria Floyd (Burlington, Mass.) easily won at third and fourth singles. Curry defaulted at 5th and 6th singles and third doubles.
