Salem State Triumphs 9-0 Over Western Connecticut

DANBURY, CT – Salem State did not lose a set in winning their first Little East match of the season over Western Connecticut State University on Wednesday night at the Westside Courts  The Vikings, who won 9-0, improved to 2-2 on the year and 1-1 in conference while the Colonials dropped to 1-3 overall and 1-1 in the Little East.

Anastasia Startseva (Volgograd, Russia) / Maddie Allaire (Columbus, Ohio) cruised to an 8-3 victory at first doubles over Carole Allers (Wilton, Conn.) / Emma Chapman (Danbury, Conn.). Meredith Macdonald (Lynn, Mass.) / Kristin Klimowicz Ipswich, Mass. won 8-4 against Pooja Dudhedia (Brookfield, Conn.) / Sarah Warkoski (Bristol, Conn.) at second doubles. Caroline Robitalle  (South Hadley, Mass.) / Hannah Dahroug (South Hadley, Mass.) completed the sweep with an 8-0 victory at third doubles.

Startseva defeated Chapman 6-1, 6-1 at first singles while Allaire won 6-2, 7-6 at second singles. Robitaille, Macdonald, Klimowicz and Dahrouge all won in straight sets at third through sixth singles with Robitalli and Dahrouge earning shutouts.
