Salem State Earns Final NEHC Playoff Spot

SALEM, Mass. – Salem State claimed the eighth and final playoff spot for the 2019 New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Women's Ice Hockey Tournament. The Vikings (6-14-4, 3-10-3) will travel to Norwich to take on the #1 seed Norwich Cadets (18-5-2, 15-0-1) on Saturday, February 16 at 3:00 PM.

Salem State qualified for the tournament in their first season in the NEHC after playing its first three seasons in the Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC). The Vikings are led by senior Danielle Kelley (Charlestown, Mass.) – 17 points (9g, 8a) and junior Kylie Currier (Middleton, Mass.) – 14 pts (8g, 6a).

Norwich, the reigning NCAA National Champions, has won the past two conference championships and has won eight NEHC titles overall.
