PAXTON, Mass -- Rose Sullivan scored twice and Sarah Plourde made 15 saves as Salem State blanked Anna Maria 5-0 in non-conference action on Friday evening.
The Vikings (3-7-1) were led by Rose Sullivan who scored just 1:33 into the game. Danielle Kelley beat AMCATS goaltender Sawyer Duncan with less than two minutes left in the first, giving the Vikings a 2-0 lead. Catherine Salvetti tallied the only goal of the second on a power play for a 3-0 Salem State advantage.
Sullivan pushed the lead to 4-0 just forty-seven seconds into the third before Vanessa VanBuskirk closed the scoring with a goal at the 8:20 mark.
Duncan allowed five goals while making 41 saves in the loss. The Vikings outshot Anna Maria 46-18 and won 41-of-58 faceoffs. Anna Maria is now 0-9 on the season.
