Endicott Sweeps Pair From Salem State

SALEM, Mass. - Michaela Hamill (Lynn, Mass.) pitched a one-hitter while striking out seven as Endicott blanked Salem State 7-0 in the first game of their scheduled doubleheader on Thursday afternoon at Alumni Field. Luciana Mastromatteo's (Peabody, Mass.) one-out single to right in the seventh accounted for the only hit of the game for the Vikings.

In game two, Adrianna Favreau (Tewksbury, Mass.) went 3-for-3 with two doubles, three RBI, and two runs to lead the Gulls to a 6-3 victory over the Vikings. The pair of wins raises Endicott's record to 16-4 on the year while the Vikings dip to 11-15.

Game 1

Gina Demilt's (Princeton, NJ) sacrifice fly to center field in the third gave the Gulls a 1-0 lead. In the sixth inning, Adrianna Favreau (Tewksbury, Mass.) led off with a triple. A Lauren Misiaszek (Londonderry, N.H.) base hit put Endicott on top 2-0. Later, with the bases loaded, a walk to Llewellyn made the score 3-0 before Olivia Odermatt (Cheshire, Conn.) delivered a two-run double to push Endicott ahead 5-0.

The Gulls went up 7-0 when Favreau hit a two-run homerun in the top of the seventh inning.

Dominique Del Vecchio (Stoneham, Mass.) went the distance, posting seven innings pitched with seven runs allowed on eight hits and four walks.

Favreau finished 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Game 2

Favreau's  RBI-double put the Gulls ahead 1-0 in the first inning. In the third inning, Favreau hit a single, scoring Olivia Odermatt (Cheshire, Conn.) from second, giving Endicott a 2-0 lead.

With players on first and second Gina Demilt (Princeton, NJ) doubled to centerfield and drove in a run to put the Gulls on top 3-0 in the top of the fourth inning. In the bottom of the inning, Ivy Bonoldi (Medfield, Mass.) smacked her first home run of the year to draw Salem State to within two runs.

However, Meg Power (Shrewsbury, Mass.) answered with a sacrifice fly as Favreau scored for Endicott as the Gulls built a 4-1 lead in the top of the fifth. Chloe Manousos (Lowell, Mass.) singled in the fifth to score Gracie Hogan (Northbridge, Mass.) as the Vikings trailed 4-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning.

In the top of the sixth inning, Favreau and Lauren Misiaszek (Londonderry, N.H.) each hit RBI- doubles to extend the lead to 6-2.

Salem State tried to rally in the seventh as a Manousos base hit made the score 6-3, but it wasn't enough as Endicott starter Maggie Oram (Lexington, Mass.) finished the complete game to earn her seventh win of the year.

Oram struck out 12 while allowing three runs in six hits. Hogan started for Salem State and went four innings, allowing three runs on seven hits with two walks and a strikeout. Game one starter Del Vecchio gave up three runs on four hits with two walks in four innings of relief.

Manousos went 2-for-4 with two RBI for Salem State.
