Salem State Wins 9-0 Over Suffolk

SALEM, Mass. -- Salem State defeated Suffolk University 9-0 for their third win of the season on Thursday at The Central Campus Tennis Courts. Andrew Muttiah (Colombo, Sri Lanka) cruised to a straight sets win at first singles, shutting out Mike DeFelice 6-0, 6-0 as the Vikings did not lose a set on the day. Salem State is now 3-4 on the season while the Rams slip to 1-8. 

Muttiah and Chen Chen (Lawrence, Mass.) won 8-2 over DeFelice and Vaillancourt at first doubles. Roni Bazile (Brockton, Mass.) / Mitchell Dyer  (N. Attleboro, Mass. ) earned an 8-2 win 8-2 at second doubles over Davis Altimonte / Panagiotis Meltsakos while Johnson Ngandjui (Lynn, Mass.) and Noah Hodgkins (Winthrop, Mass.) teamed for a victory at third singles 8-2.

Bazile, Dyer, Chen and Hodgkins all won in a pair of sets with only Dyer needing a tie-breaker to defeat Chris Parnagian at third singles.

Ngandjui won his first collegiate match with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Hasan Esrawi at sixth singles.
