HENNIKER, N.H. -- Felipe DeSouza (Medford, Mass.) and Endi Doku (Peabody, Mass.) each scored first half goals to help Salem State get past New England College, 2-1 on Wednesday night at Don Melander Field. The Vikings win their third in a row and move to 8-4-1 on the season. The Pilgrims are now 4-6-1.
DeSouza and Doku each notched their first goals of the season, staking Salem State to a 2-0 halftime lead. The Vikings posted a 12-6 advantage in shots.
Salem State held a two-goal lead until New England College's Logan Cassin (Penacook, N.H.) struck for a goal with 4:36 to go in the game. However, the Vikings held the lead, hanging on for a one-goal victory.
Matt Hauntsman (Milford, N.H.) picked up the win making one save. Hayden Walker (Manchester, N.H.) recorded seven saves for the Pilgrims. The Vikings outshot the Pilgrims, 31-10 for the game.
