(The photo was taken on a day when Salem State finished with the low round for the day and was presented pewter mugs.)

The spring of 1972 we were invited to participate in a college tournament held at St, Andrews Scotland comprised of some New England Teams , Central CT State , Worcester State , and Salem State along with several Southern Colleges which included  U.Alabama . We were fortunate to finance this trip by donations from several local private golf courses.(ie) Kernwood CC, Salem CC, Tedesco CC, Essex County Club, as well as some of the home courses the players were members of. I also asked if we might have our former golf coach Dr. Joseph Sullivan accompany our team which he did. This was a once in a life time experience and was a tremendous recruiting instrument for us. This allowed us to include Kim O'Neil who joined our program from his previous experience in FL.

We played (2) Rounds at St Andrews and (1)at Carnouste .
