Salem State Places 11th at 85th NEIGA Championship

BREWSTER, Mass. – Salem State concluded their 2019 fall campaign with an 11th place finish at the 85th New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship on Monday at The Captains Golf Course. The Vikings posted a final round score of 653, shooting a 314 final round, which tied for fourth best amongst the 22 teams competing.

Once again, Max Emmerich (Swampscott, Mass.) led the way for Salem State, tying for 25th with a two-day 159 (80, 79, +15). Ian Paskowski (Danvers, Mass.) finished tied for 31st one stroke behind his teammate with a 160 (86, 74, +16).

Christian McKenna (Danvers, Mass.) t-47 (86, 78, +20), Aaron Paskowski (Danvers, Mass.) t-73 (87, 83, +26) and Travis Ryan (Lynn, Mass.) t-101 (92, 89, +37) rounded out the field.

Babson posted a final round score of 298 on the par-72, 6,687-yard Starboard Course to finish with a 36-hole total of 13-over 589 to claim the championship. Johnson & Wales came in 15 shots behind Babson in second place at 604, while Nichols (620), Western New England (632) and Springfield (634) rounded out the top five.

Nicholas Gianelos (West Chester, Pa.) of Babson claimed medalist honors with a 1-over 145 (73, 72).
