Rams Edge Vikings in Double Overtime

SALEM, Mass. -- Hannah Cochran netted the game-tying goal with 30 seconds remaining in regulation, but Emma Bailey scored her second goal in the 79th minute of double overtime to lift Framingham State to a 4-3 victory over Salem State in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action on Saturday at Maple Street Field. The Rams improve to 2-4 and 1-1 in conference while the Vikings slip to 2-5 and 0-2 in the MASCAC. 

How it Happened:

  • Allison Thomas scored on a assist from Grace Morey, giving Salem State a 1-0 first period lead.

  • Bailey tied the game in the 10th minute of the first period as the two teams headed to the break tied 1-1.

  • Angelina Serra gave Framingham State a 2-1 lead in the third, but two scores by Salem State's Morey and Cochran, sandwiched around a goal by Framingham State's Natalia Roehr in the fourth, forced the game into overtime.    

Inside the Numbers:

  •  The Rams outshot the Vikings 9-0 in overtime and 20-4 for the game.
  • Morey finished with a goal and assist for Salem State.
  • Bailed notched two goals for Framingham State while Angelina Serra had a goal and assist.
  • The Rams held an 18-5 edge in corners.
  • Izzy Mosley (2-5) had 10 saves for the Vikings. Rowan Whittaker (2-1) earned the win without making a stop.
