Eastern Connecticut Blanks Salem State 2-0

MANSFIELD, Conn. – Eastern Connecticut's  Sydney Hogan (Northford, Conn.) scored two goals as the Warriors blanked Salem State 2-0 in the Little East opener for both squads on Saturday morning at McCarthy Field. Eastern Connecticut picks up their first win to go to 1-3 on the year and 1-0 in the LEC while the Vikings slip to 3-2 and 0-1 in conference.

Hogan scored in the seventh minute of the second quarter as the Warriors held a slim 1-0 advantage at halftime. Just over 10 minutes into the third quarter, Hogan netted her second unassisted score of the game to extend the lead to 2-0.

Salem State picked up their intensity in the fourth, registering six shots to just two for Eastern Connecticut, but could not find the back of the net as the Warriors held on for a 2-0 victory.

Keira Integlia (Branford, Conn.) made five saves in the win, while Kelli McCarthy (Foxborough, Mass.) stopped seven shots.
