Rams Stun Vikings

SALEM, Mass. – Bailey Donelly (Framingham, Mass.) and Julia Tetreault (Sutton, Mass.) scored two goals apiece as Framingham State stunned Salem State with three unanswered second half goals to defeat the Viking 5-4 in Little East field hockey action on Saturday afternoon. The Vikings now stand at 0-15 and 0-11 in the Little East while the Rams go to 3-11 and 1-9 in conference.

Framingham State netted the first goal of the game in the 6th minute as Meaghann Ackerman (Littleton, Mass.), found the back of the net, but the lead was short lived as Alyssa Drouin (Methuen, Mass.) scored the first of her two goals just over thirty seconds later.

The Vikings built a 4-1 advantage, as Drouin, Vanessa Yavorski (Georgetown, Mass.) and Jillian Danton (Arlington, Mass.) scored three consecutive goals before Bailey Donelly (Framingham, Mass.) got one back for the Rams right before halftime, making the score 4-2 at the break.

Salem State held a 9-4 advantage at the half.

Framingham State held Salem State to just one shot on goal in the second half, as the Rams kept the pressure on the Vikings' defense over the final 35 minutes. Tetreault knocked in a rebound in the 52nd minute and Donelly followed with the equalizer seven minutes later. The Rams, which took six corners in the half, scored the go-ahead goal off the stick of Tetreault as her shot stuck just inside the right post with less than seven minutes remaining.

Grace Pushor (Old Town, Maine) and Kaitlyn O'Shea (Ledgewodd, N.J.) made four saves apiece in the game.
