Bio

Bill, who passed away August 11, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer, was the senior member of the college’s athletic department having served as the head athletic trainer for the last 32 years. Since arriving on campus in 1977, Bill mentored and prepared many student trainers for top athletic training positions all over the United States. An undergraduate of Plymouth State, Bill received his Masters degree in athletic training from Indiana University. Prior to coming to SSC, Bill implemented the athletic training program at Bridgewater State College. In addition to being a certified trainer by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association of America, Bill was also a trained Emergency Medical Technician. An outstanding three-sport schoolboy athlete, Bill was inducted into the Tewksbury High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005. Bill also holds the unique distinction of having worked more SSC athletic events than anyone.
